The brief for this site was pretty simple. Kristina is a freelance photographer specialising in portrait photography, she is looking to increase her presence on the internet and maybe even draw in some leads. The site is also a useful marketing tool to which she can direct potential and current clients.

I decided to go with Drupal because I know and love it, and it generally offers a bit more flexibility than other CMS systems. With Drupal I was able to include a blogging engine and cataloging system for all of Kristinas photographs. Then with the use of some simple modules you are able to embed the photo's into blog entries, so Kristina can blog about her recent photographic projects.

For some extra interaction I decided to steer away from Flash and use JQuery and JQueryUI, which is the preferred choice for Drupal development. JCycle proved to be a really useful JQuery plugin and provided the necessary slideshow functionality. After playing around with different lightbox plugins I found Thickbox to be nicest looking and it runs nicely out of the box.
